After submitting a water damage claim on 29 November I received a ref # per sms &message to say that should no one contact me within 2 w/days, then I should contact them (number was provided).
When I followed up, I had to hold for a very long period of time - I was informed I phoned the wrong number & had to phone another - after holding on for a very long period the call was automatically disconnected. I phoned on numerous times, to no avail.
I phoned ABSA again today, and after holding for long period of time was eventually able to get through. I was told that the number is only a ref #, I should log a call again.
I was transferred to a very rude & unpleasant gentleman. The way he spoke was unmannerly and disrespectful, not the type of service I expected to receive from ABSA. I have been a client of ABSA for more than 25 years, I expect to be treated with respect, and to receive service (which obviously i have not received since logging the call 3 weeks ago). I asked the man to transfer my call to somone else as I found him to be rude, he did not transfer me to someone else, instead I was transferred to the main line again and had to wait in the queue again!
