I recently submitted a claim to virgin insurance after I hit a pothole and damaged on of my vehicle tyres. I was then instructed to take my vehicle for an assessment which consisted of someone walking around my vehicle and taking notes. The assessor neglected to check for any other damage that they could see and wrote a report saying I only needed a new tyre, as this was below the 5000 claim threshold I was informed to perform the repairs myself. When buying the new tyre and fitting further damage to the rim was discovered and the total of repair is now above 5000 but virgin insists I do the repairs myself and they will only re-imburse after. I have sent them a quote for the repairs that is clearly above the threshold and they still refuse to re-imburse me. What s the point of paying for insurance if I have to pay for fixing my own car. I have never had such bad service from an insurer.
