Went to collect my credit card at Standard Bank today. After waiting 20 minutes in the queue for enquiries, I greeted the assistant, Horace. Response? 'Eh ...'. Thinking that I hadn't heard correctly, I greeted him again. Response - 'Yes', with a 'What the is your problem' expression. If this is the future of banking, or 'moving forwards' or even 'simpler [or] better', heaven help us.

For a while now, I have been thinking of changing to FNB. I've been with Standard Bank for almost 30 years and all they're good at is charging fees. Even their UCount 'rewards' attracts a fee of R20!

I am livered!
