First National Bank
Outstanding Reserved Amount

Business & Finance

Every month I rent a car from Avis for no more than a week. Avis reserves the usual 'deposit amount' on my account and once the car is returned and checked by Avis, they deduct the amount due to them. The deposit amount remains in my bank untouched by Avis. Previously, I was able to call FNB and they would release the funds almost immediately. For the first couple of months I had to fill out a form which also states that you should allow for 5 days for them to respond, thereafter you wait and you wait until you call them back again. Last month, I was told that I could skip the whole process and go directly to my premier banker, who was very helpful. This month, things have changed again. I now have to go through the old process to get my money back. What frustrates me enormously is that this is my money not FNBs and I can see that it's still in my account when I log into my internet banking but what I fail to understand is why I have to go through so many processes that take so long to get my money back. I am really unhappy about this. I've been banking with FNB for a while now but these constant changes in banking procedures & without being made aware of it -frustrating!
