NO PAYMENT OF INCOME PROTECTOR AFTER 17 DAYS

I am a medical doctor and have a Discovery life policy with a income protector for a few years. I recently had the unfortunate need to claim from my policy due to a hysterectomy done on the 22nd of November 2013.When I went to see the Gynecologist in May I didn't have an exact date for the procedure as I am part of a group practise and have to consider seven other doctor's holiday schedules. In and around June-July my advisers came to see me with regards to Section 14 transfer documents I had to sign. They asked if they shouldn't perhaps also look at my existing policy as they could see how busy I am. I agreed, signed the documents and never gave it another thought. Now, SEVENTEEN DAYS, later I received a phone call from a Jaco van Heerden informing me the claim is being reassessed as the income protector was lift in the middle of the year. They couldn't look at my claim the Friday before that, as it was Discoveries Year End function, I am being put on hold on a day to day basis. The waiting period for claims from my income protector is 7 days, would I really be so stupid to pay much higher premiums if I could have claimed 6 months ago. I want a solution by tomorrow.
