Last week Wednesday, 4th December 2013, my car was stranded in the middle of church street in Kloof, just outside Durban. It couldn't start, and I later found out that the problem was the flywheel and clutch kit. Oakhurst insurance took 4 hours to send a tow service out to me. I had to make several calls to their useless call center which initially booked a tow service for me, but they cancelled it soon after finding out that there were road works. This I found out from the tow service after 1 and a half hours of waiting when I called the tow company myself. The agents don't return your calls and I wasted over R300 of cellphone airtime trying to get them to provide me with roadside service. Its called Emergency Roadside Assistance, because there is a sense of urgency when you're stuck in the middle of a busy road. When I queried about how far the tow truck is, they responded with, "the agent you want to speak with is on lunch". This name was Josh Gregory. No one assumes accountability - instead you're passed on from one agent to another. Oh, and then I also find out that my comprehensive cover does not include mechanical failure. So they try to sell me additional insurance. REALLY?!
