I have a Hollard MotorXtender policy, designed to assist with financial help when the warranty on my vehicle expires. Their sales spiel assured me that the process would be easy and efficient. Lo and behold the time has come when I need to lodge a claim, and guess what?
The dealership (Peugeot Woodmead - Mr Harrison) tells me that they will not deal directly with Hollard because of the delays they experience in getting authorisation, with the resultant bad customer experience laid at their (the dealership's) door. I must settle my bill and claim compensation from Hollard.
When I call Hollard about this, I firstly get bounced around 6 different people, eventually ending up with someone representing Mototech, who tells me I must get a report from the dealership on the nature of the problem, and motivate the corrective action required, together with a formal quotation.
I have a problem with this process, which puts all responsibility on the customer to generate documentation which may or may not get authorisation for insured compensation, and also has no guarantee of timing for this authorisation.
