ABSA vehicle insurance is pathetic

Account number:82366380 - I purchased a vehicle from Barons N1 City a year and half ago and provided all the necessary insurance documentation for the vehicle.
Today I found out that monies was deducted from my account (from ABSA) for vehicle insurance, without my consent. There are 2 key questions here;
1: Surely debiting money from ones account without consent (be it recorded verbal agreement or signature) is?
2: if the necessary vehicle insurance was provided at the time of purchase how is it that ABSA paid Barons N1 city the purchase amount if they did not receive the necessary and relevant documentation?

One should always remember that insurance is based on a month to month basis, thus making it near impossible for one to keep sending proof of insurance cover every month.
