This is my second complaint to Standard Bank. I still have not heard after my previous complaint. Then I complained because my wife and I made an application for a home loan in her name. which - it seems owing to the poor training of the clerk at Boksburg K90 - went through on my name and was declined on the very day of application. We only heard this by enquiring (having heard nothing) after 2 weeks and on Friday 22nd Nov I visited the same clerk and on the 3rd attempt on their online application he managed to get it through in her name, not mine. We were greatly encouraged when on the Monday 25th the Estate Agent was contacted to view the house for appraisal. Today 2nd Dec, again having heard nothing, we checked up on the status of the application and were told that the "application had been cancelled by the purchaser" and it was because of " no communication" on that very Monday, 25th November. We had of course done no such thing and no attempt had been made to contact us. This is gross incompetence and a cause of great frustration. 4 weeks later we are back to the beginning and time is running out on our offer to purchase.
