Still being charged for a closed card

I am on a student achiever account and upon opening my account, I received a garage card (which I did not ask for).
I went into a brach the second I received any fees on the card to cancel it.
I have now been charged for the last 2 or 3 years on a card I closed. I have no proof of it being closed- I was told it was closed in a branch after a phone call and had been made and that was it.
I feel as if this is an error on Standard Bank's part. How should I be billed if someone on Standard Bank's side never closed the card correctly?
I expect a full refund on all amounts I've been charged and plan to change banks the second I receive my money.
