Inefficient and ineffective atm and branch

After entering correct password atm acknowledged proceeded to next screen. The atm than froze and swallowed my credit card no prompting nothing printed. It was than reported and was told to get a new card at no cost.

Received an sms to collect my card in laudium upon visiting branch. Was told the lady takes keys home hence cannot get my card and should come back later.

How is it that keys are taken home which banks employees or corporate companies do this. What a waste of time and lack of resources onsite very poor excuse for a bank to behave an act in this manner.
