Paying for their mistake

In January this year I used HiFinance (HF) to purchase a MacBook Pro at Incredible Connection (IC), in Cavendish, Claremont.

2 months after the purchase, I moved banks and requested that HF and their rep. at IC change my debit order details. I was told this had been done. Subsequently HF attempted to debit the wrong account for 2 months running resulting in 2 months of bank charges for failed payments and 2 months arrears.

When I noticed the incorrect debits I notified HF and the debit order details were correctly changed. There was no offer of compensation for THEIR mistake and I told to make an arrangement to pay the arrears. I have been paying an additional sum for several months now but I do not see the arrears amount reducing. My statement details a service fee, billed finance charges and a life insurance premium which total 50% of the monthly repayment. I receive SMS notifications and interrogatory phonecalls about HIGH ARREARS regularly.

I have email [Email Removed] to query the charges and ask whether I am being penalised for THEIR mistake. I would also like to cancel the life insurance. I am concerned that my credit rating has been affected.

I have received no replies.
