I reported the matter on the 14th day of Dec 2012 at above absa branch. All necessary documents were completed . case were opened and I was notified by letter that the case was declined. According to Lerato at the Department I interacted with a person. Yes at the time of my transaction 13/12/2012 at 11.45 at the ATM, a person approached me and said that I have my card in the wrong way, then I have told him to leave me cause I have been doing it for years. He then left and I did the transaction. The next morning I received a "notify me" on my phone for an amount of R1000 drawn on my account the previous night 23.59pm. I escelated the complaint again, but as they were not interested to re-open the case, I was informed that I am free to go to the Banking Ombudsman. I feel that, for being with Absa Bank for approximately 30 years and never had an insident like this, and as it is encouraged by all banking institutions to use electronic banking I always use the ATM. This I feel is not acceptable as I am a pensioner and only receive a government pension. I dont deserve the treatment from the bank that I have always been loyal to. I will appreciate your feedback.!!!
