ABSA from clients?

Today I found out that ABSA, out of the kindness of their heart, decided that I *MAY* require additional insurance on my vehicle.
This after I had to provide proof of insurance to them in order to get finance.

So they very kindly took an additional R500.00 off of my account.

Luckily I noticed that the amount was higher than normal - how can they do this? How can they deduct money from my bank account, with ZERO input from my side?!?
I feel more violated than if my card had been cloned by someone and they all my money - hey, maybe ABSA staff need bonuses and they just decided to skim money off of everybody's accounts?
