It is shocking to see the amount of unhappy reports from ABSA clients, complaining about the bad service.
I noticed that extra money was taken from my account at the start of June 2013 for my vehicle finance with ABSA. After my phone call to the company I was informed that insurance for the vehicle was taken out as ABSA was not sure if I had insurance or not, so they took out a new insurance with Hollard and added the amount to my monthly payment.
After sending them proof of my current insurance, they cancelled the policy and assured me that I will be refunded.
It has now been more than two months and I am still waiting for the refund from the unnecessary insurance.
The incompetent staff at the call center could not help me, giving me the same answers over and over even after admitting that I am not the first client with such a complaint and that ABSA is wrong. They even told me that it would reflect bad on my credit record if they pay me back... ITS ABSA's MISTAKE!! and they don't want to fix it. Its not allowed to take money from my personal bank account without my approval for the debit order!!!

Honestly thinking of closing all accounts at ABSA!!!
