First National Bank
FNB Loans trying to my wife's money

Business & Finance

My wife had a personal loan with FNB which she prematurely settled on 21/10/13. When she made the lump sum payment, she was informed that it was too late to stop her monthly debit order of R3467 which was due to be taken from her account on 25/10. But she was told that FNB would reimburse this money shortly. On 20/11 my wife realised that she had still not been reimbursed. She phoned the Loan Help Centre the next day and spoke to Tshepiso Lebelwane who informed her that she needed to send a bank statement to prove that the R3467 debit order left her account. Surely FNB Loans should have a record of this? Nonetheless, my wife sent an internet statement to Tshepiso. A few minutes later she received a response from Tshepiso saying that it was supposed to be a branch statement. My wife emailed replied that there was no mention of this on the phone. Tshepiso just sent a robotic response saying a branch statement was needed. Why should my wife have to prove that FNB took her money? What would have happened if she never contacted FNB - would they have her money? I emailed Tshepiso on 22/11 asking her numerous questions about this and she ignored my email. We want the money back!!!
