First National Bank
Home loan process an absolute disgrace!

Business & Finance

We've applied for our home loan at the end of October and were thereafter informed that FNB require the building plans, in order to continue with the application process, which is a reasonable request.

The plans were submitted on the 5th of November and I received written confirmation that everything is in order and have been submitted for approval (application 180/00630/10/2013)

It is now however 12 working days later and I am yet to receive feedback, even though my offer to purchase expires on Friday whilst I'm liable for the architect costs etc. incurred to draw up the plans.

My banker is on study leave we've been trying the whole of today to reach the person standing in for him (Johan Roux) via email and telephone, without any success.

I have numerous emails where I followed up on the status quo of the process but my banker every time said another 2 days or so.

As such I request your urgent assistance in order to resolve this matter, seeing that I'm the one that will have to pay for FNB's delay in this process - you've informed me that I'm pre-approved for private banking as well as a credit card limit of R300 000 but this is how you treat me?
