Congratulations, Standard Bank, you've won.

After receiving 10, 000 SMSes in one week (more than one a minute) and no progress report (it took you nearly a week to classify the problem as a technical problem) I have given up. Lyttelton Police Station does not wish to open a case of harassment against you.

Kevin Kok informed me very well that Standard Bank acknowledges the error, but alas, will not compensate me one red cent for productivity lost, time spent, or phone calls spent on hold.

Despite the fact that I am not a Standard Bank customer, it seems that Standard Bank has the right to royally mess with people's lives and not suffer any consequences. Must be nice being a large corporation: If I did to you what you were doing to me I'd be broke and in jail.

So, you win: since emails are ignored, you don't care about being prosecuted and you like keeping people on hold I'm not going to waste my energy to follow this up. Enjoy your lives.
