Very Disappointed in this Bank

I deposited a cheque at this branch on Wed 13 November, which was a reimbursement of some of my university fees. It was a standard bank cheque and I am a standard bank account holder. The teller said the funds would be available that day within 3-5 hours. I did some research of my own after it didn't reflect and thought she might have been mistaken as I found 3-5 days to be the norm. I have since phoned customer care who have now told me that it will only be available in 10 days!!!

This is ridiculous and misleading. I was relying on this funds for necessities and would have opted to cash the cheque had I not been mislead.

So many have advised me to change Banks, yet I defend and stay out of loyalty but then things like this occur. This is unacceptable.
