Dead ends during loan application!

I applied for loan online on 11 November 2013. I was immediately contacted by a call centre agent who then went through another application process with me. I was told to visit my nearest branch with some documents to finalize the application. I did so on Saturday 16 November in wet rainy weather on foot! I had to leave the branch a couple of times to get more information as I was not told precisely which documents to take in!

I phoned the call centre to check why my work has not been called or why I have not heard anything since then. Just to find out that the person who handled the application at the branch, never sent the documents and finalised the application. This person won't even be back at the office soon!

Is there really nothing that could be done by the branch as they have told me? I need to know the outcome of the application urgently, so that i can make other arrangements if it is not being approved! I can not take another day off to go into the branch office again.

Can you please assist me urgently? I have borrowed from African Bank before and I can not recall it being such a hassle and frustration to get answers!
