Business & Finance

I made a payment to a quotation and copied & pasted the suppliers a/c no. onto the internet payment. (On researching the payment I found that the account no paid was a pre-existing a/c no. on my once off payment history and not the one I pasted. How this happened I have no idea). I spent hours trying to sort the problem out with FNB & ABSA The payment was made on 11/11/13 & 12/11/13 @ approx. 13:30 I made the request that this payment be reversed as the supplier noticed that the a/c no. was wrong. I was told by FNB that I could request them to have a reversal done at a cost of R225.00 but they could not give me a guarantee that they could not get the money back as I had done it on internet banking. I am completely astounded that a bank cannot have control over their internet banking facility when we are told that it takes 3 days for the funds to appear on the other banks account. If the money I paid for goods R480.00 is not reversed I will loose over R700. I am a pensioner of FNB receiving R341 per month & a State Pension. Can you help me as this is a fortune to me.
Many thanks
