Regent Insurance Premium Hike

I received a letter via post from Regent insurance, plainly stating that "in view of the current market conditions, the rising cost of materials and labour"... they thought it reasonable to increase my current premium by 82% from 1 December 2013.To say I am appalled, shocked and disappointed is an understatement.. and being a no claim customer no less. Is there anybody else that is experiencing this? and can Regent Insurance do this? I would like to think that they would give us more information considering that their increase is pretty abnormal and shady to say the least. My major concern is whether there is something more sinister going on... I just require some honesty for peace of mind to know that should I need to submit a claim, I would not have to worry about it not being paid... I have contacted them, however the call centre is unable to assist and does offer to put you through to someone else, but then they cut you off.. so no luck there.. this could be accidental and just my luck... but over all..MAJOR CONCERNS... :-(((
