ATM Fault is Clients Problem!

I had the misfortune of being in the middle of an ATM transaction (at a Standard Bank ATM) when the ATM developed a fault, shut down and decided to keep my card at the same time, in these current times I did not believe I could take a chance and leave my card in the ATM so I called the call centre and had the card cancelled. Little did I realize that I would now inconvenience myself and be told that I must wait 3-4 days for my card to be delivered to my private banker, once there I would be able to go and collect it and link it to my Internet banking. In the interim if I needed to access my funds or my Internet banking I would have to go to my nearest branch and apply for a debit card as they can issue that instantly, I could then ask the branch to link it to my other accounts and to re-open the Internet banking and transfer my beneficiaries to my new Internet banking. I sit and wonder what I did wrong that I must now take time out of my schedule to access my funds due to an error by Standard Bank. In my opinion I would say this is second rate service at best.
