Very very poor attitude

October 2013 - I get offered a cheque account with Standard Bank. I was quite happy and impressed with the consultant that I dealt with. Professional and friendly, just like my normal dealings with Standard Bank. They actually do have some great staff.

I get an sms a few weeks later to let me know that my card is ready for collection. I go in to TRADE ROUTE MALL branch to collect. I proceed to the enquiries counter and collect and sign for my card. I then leave.

I get a call the next day by a very rude woman that works at client services (I forget the witch's name). I get out for not coming to the client services section to collect my card. I was TOLD rudely to return and sign some documents. I said that I would like to close my new account. She said that I can call the call centre. I did this and was told that I have to go into the branch. I am a sales rep who does not have the time to keep on going into the branch.

All I want to do is cancel this cheque account. I have enjoyed doing business with Standard Bank in the past. But of late I have found their service to be falling.
