Cheque account not cancelled now minus balance

I asked nedbank to close my cheque account the beginning of last month october, i took the following measures: i phoned their contact centre they said i should first tranfer the money thats in my account so that it can be a balance of zero, i did that then i was advised to go to a branch, which i did and this was not the first time i phoned the centre. I Went to mabopane branch central city they said my account has a minus balance and told them thats imposibble cause when i check my statemnet on sst its 0 balance.i phoned nedbank again was led to retention departmant and i told them i dont want the account they should close it. A lady by the name of Anisa (retention dept) said she will get back to me up until today.now i get an sms saying my account is overdrawn by R144 when i phone that department they say that its for monthly charges R89 plus another amount only Lord knows where that came from. Now i asked them to close my account the beginning of october, if they did that there was no need for that monthly bank charge and the other one. I told them i wont pay those charges as i have been telling them to cancel that account.i dont know how many times i have phoned their contact centre
