RECOVERY OF EXCESS FUNDS FOR VEHICLE

I had an accident on the 11/06/13. I paid my excess of R500 and was told that as soon as ABSA insurance recovers the money, I will be refunded. On 30/09/13, I called the recovery department. I was told that they only had the case no and no other details of the other person. Now what is the reason for the case no. Are they not supposed to investigate. I was given a ref no: DEB35916 and told that I will be contacted shortly. I have not been contacted till today. I emailed the person in charge of my case and she has not responded to date. Does this mean that once, I have paid my excess, no one cares because they have received payment and that the person who caused the accident gets away. What happens to my 'no claims' status. I obviously am going to have a claim against my name due to incompetent people. What is the job description of a person who works at a Recovery Department. I am so disgusted.
