REFUSAL TO OFFER PROMISED SERVICES

I have been a loyal MiWay client for 5 years. I have never claimed nor had any incidences. From my calculations, I have contributed more than R 45 000 to MiWay insurance towards my monthly premiums during the last 5 years.

Moreover, I have managed to get 2 clients to sign up for MiWay car insurance during this period.

Nevertheless, MiWay decided not to assist me and my family (mother, aunt, fiance & friend) when our car broke down on Friday (25 October 2013) simply because I have another mechanical insurance (AutoShure) arranged with the dealership that provides: (1) mechanical services and expertise first, and (2) car towing services when needed.

The interesting fact is that MiWay was going to use the same approved towing services company (MAC's TOWING & RECOVERING) with longer lead times than AutoShure. When MiWay discovered that Autoshure had offered towing services which was going to take 45 minutes, they opted out without even offering to tow the car themselves, asserting that they cannot even organize a courtesy car.

Furthermore, MiWay's late response imposed a risk of not being able to arrange an alternative car with AVIS on time.
