Wrong person being contacted for credit card debt

I had a Standard bank savings acc for approx. 6 months. After which I cancelled the card and re-opened a acc with FNB.(Much better service and monthly fees.) From the time I closed my acc I have received numerous calls to settle my "outstanding credit card". After a few calls from them I asked for more info as I only had a savings account. I then realized that they were actually looking for a person with same name and surname as me. Only difference is this person was born on 21st of May 1969. I in fact, was born on 31st of May 1969. Big co-incidence but yes it is true. I don't know the person at all but I keep on receiving phone calls from Nimble and every time I explain the situation to the operator. I have been to Standard Bank in Alberton JHB. The person there was very helpful. He contacted Nimble and even sent a copy of my ID to them to confirm that I am not the person in question. I recently applied for credit and was turned down because this now reflects on my profile.(As a bad payer etc) I was very patient and accepted that a problem could slip in, but now it is reflecting on my credit profile. your help in this regard would be appreciated.
