My account with African is in arrears. They have been debiting on odd and arbitrary dates, not the date I had agreed to. My account was debited twice 22 Oct and twice 23 Oct. I agreed to a date of the last working day of the month. I have called the callcentre, sent emails including my bank statement several times requesting a refund. I had made the debit order date arrange with Promise Chakela who is a supervisor. I did speak to her by default yesterday as she refuses to correspond with me telephonically, not returning my calls or providing feedback when promised. The call centre's attitude (I have the names of everyone I spoke to) is terrible and you get simply that managers are not available, they cannot find people, it is a large call centre so they cannot locate the people you are looking for. I received an sms this morning saying that my request for a refund has been declined. I find unacceptable and unethical. That means they can just go into your bank account at any time and take money as many times as they want with no consequence. I must be out of pocket with no recourse to African bank. They need to urgently refund me.
