Retrenchment Claim Repudiated

I was retrenched at the end of July 2013. I took out a insurance policy against my Truworths account middle of May - I did not know I was going to be retrenched!!! I received a email from the legal department at Truworths to say I had only paid 2 premiums at the time of my retrenchment therefore I cannot claim and I have no cover!! Yet the policy says I am covered from the date I take out the insurance. I am only putting in a claim now (October) 2months later after my retrenchment as I am still unemployed. I phoned Hollard the underwriters and gave them my ID, Account No and policy number and there is no record of me - yet I have now a minute ago received an email from Finrite to say Hollard rejected the claim and they want my address to send me the rejection letter. What is going on - this is so unethical!!
