Policy lapsed after being debited

My account was debit in July, August and September for my Investment but suddenly towards the end of September I got a letter that my policy has lapsed. I submitted a prove to old mutual that my account was debit buy they user code 8081, firstly they said it was not old mutual that debited the account. When I ask Absa my back to reverse the debit then Absa confirmed that the money was received by old mutual.
There is no one at old mutual who is giving me a clear feedback of what happened to the debit that they did and what made my policy to lapse.
I requested them then to refund my money and still NO ONE is doing welling to help me.
I have being a client to old mutual for almost 10 years now and a start not to trust them and wonder if money will be safe with them.
