I submitted a claim for a cellphone that has water damage there is no problem with the time it took to finalize the claim only took 2 work day. My problem is with the fact that MIWAY has the right to tell you how to replace your property, cellphone in this case. Our phones have been insured for little over a year now, mine was in July and my husbands got water damage last week. I submitted my claim online and the process went smoothly. But when it comes to the payout they DECIDED the phone will be replaced through CelluCity (don't know the supplier so I don't trust them), I asked if they could pay the money out to us (they gave me a claim card with my previous claim) because we would like to do an early upgrade on my husbands contract with Vodacom and will need to pay in an amount to do so. But no they could not. The consultant informed me they have the choice of how to handle the payout and that this is the only option. After the 3rd time se told me the same thing I said that I am not happy with their service and she said I should read my policy schedule more thoroughly in future. I still don't understand how they have no alternative option in this modern world?
