I cancelled my policy on line on 20 August 2013 after 2 months as the Essential1 Doctor recommended by Essential Med would only accept cash as they said they battle to get payment from essential Med. I was debited on 1 October 2013. When I phoned to enquire and ask for a refund I was told by the lady in Cancellations that they had a problem with their system on that day and none of the cancellations went through. Unless I printed it out and can send them a copy there is nothing they can do about it. Why is a system failure on Essential Med's side my problem? I was never informed to send them a copy of the cancellation incase their system failed. When I requested from the lady in cancellations that she check against the ticket number I received for the cancellation she sounded irritated like I was making my problem hers. Worst service EVER! They say that they record all phone calls for training purposes. Has management ever actually listened to those calls and heard how their clients are spoken to with the "friendly" voice full of sighing and irritation. The most frustrating company to deal with!
