Why say it's Intant when it isn't

On Saturday my car loan went off and saw that I had insufficient funds (my fianc? lost her job that's why the insufficient funds) and made a plan to get the money, so on Sunday I went and paid the amount needed at those new machines that makes the money instant after the deposit, got the slip and it showed that it was in. Went on home without a worry and just got the sms that it returned and it's a lot less then the amount that was pulled off, went in on my account and saw the money was only paid in a day later?! Why say it deposited the money instantly when it doesn't work on weekends, if I kept the money and went in today I would have had enough for the payment which I don't have now anymore
