Utterly disgusted with the manner in which my query is being attended to. I attempted to withdraw money (R180) from a Standard Bank ATM on Sunday the 16th and the machine gave me a machine error (and needless to say did not give the money I attempted to withdraw). Due to the faulty machine I errenously typed in an extra zero to the amount I was intending to withdraw. Instead of the machine stating that there were insufficient funds it gave a machine error. No harm done as I had punched in the wrong amount anyway (or at least I thought). I get an sms notification -10-15 minutes later stating that I had withdrawn R1800, when my account had about R1250 left. I call the call center immediately and "systems down due to maintenance". I call the following day and the Consultant confirms that it was an error and apologizes. Money is however not returned. I go to Carlton center Standard Bank where I get treated like I the money from the machine. I also have my suspicions that Standard Bank is practicing another from of Unsecured Lending, but I will take this up with the NCR. Standard Bank's actions are almost similar to African Bank's - the fine should go both ways... SERVICE
