I was directed to several consultants to assist me with a banking transaction, none of whom seemed sure how to do the operation. When I returned a day later to collect my bank guaranteed cheque, I was kept waiting for an hour and a half. When the cheque was eventually handed to me, it was made out to the incorrect company. It took them another half hour to do another one. One week later I needed another cheque, and was told that my request had not even been submitted. The attitude of the consultant, Wilna, who then tried to sort out the mess (the consultant who was supposed to have submitted the request was away for the day) was that she was doing me a favour (not that it was her job). I have never ever received such shoddy service in my life. After banking with Standard Bank for more than 25 years, they seem to be in total chaos. Almost every transaction seems to become a disaster.
