I popped out to Capitec Bank, Blue Route Mall in my lunch break. I needed to do a quick deposit in the 30 minutes I had available.

I walked into the branch, it was very crowded and went straight to the enquiries/ deposits/ statements section.

I eventually got to the front of the que and the lady assisting me asked for my ticket. I was not aware that you had to have a ticket in order to get served. She told me I had to now go to the back of the que because I didn't have a ticket. I told her I was in my lunch break and was not going to go all the way to the back because I didn't have a 'ticket'. She was insistent, saying that they have a system, and have to stick to it. Being the abiding citizen I am, I went and got a ticket and waited an additional 10 minutes. As far as I am concerned, I stood in the que and waited my turn. I don't see why I should have to go all the way to the back and wait all over again because of a silly ticket.

Yes, it may be policy, but what has happened to assisting the client above all else? Because of this, I returned to work late and my boss was not impressed.
