Standard Bank Insurance is pathetic

I've recently purchased a house that has a pool, and as luck would have it I've got a hassle with one of the underground pipes. I went through the policy documents I signed with the transfer attorneys, and was left with the idea that this should be covered (I understand pool motors are specifically mentioned as not being covered). When I called to lodge a claim, I was told that pool pipes are not covered. The agent I dealt with started quoting from a policy document that is definitely not the same as the one I signed (she kindly sent me a copy now). i have a serious concern about what else that appears to be covered, is not. I definitely will be moving my bond insurance to Outsurance as their policies are totally transparent, where Standard Bank's certainly is not. Also, the agent was not able to collect the actual document I signed - what is the point of quoting something I have not had sight of or agreed to?

This is exactly why Insurance should be left to insurance experts, and not bank staff. I don't expect anything to happen with this complaint, but the rejected claim number is 13/064915. Seriously, this is a very poor show!!!
