My car was broken into, battery cable cut, sound equipment, and odds and ends taken and damaged. I took solace in thinking that I was covered, and that insurance is an acceptable neccessity and expense, luxury even... not with Virgin money insurance!
I had to fight with them to include the backboard of the car as part of the car and NOT part of the sound system (as it acts in pretty much the same way a car door with speaker pods do and does not deliver sound, or power ie. door taken will they not replace it?), the logic in that astounded me.
The agent was repetitive over the hour i was on call with him, having me repeat the same details at least thrice, and still getting it wrong in synopsis.
In the end the assessment of damages came in Juuuuuust below the threshold where they would cover the cost (just under R5k), this is not seperate from the paint/chip repair which is sold seperate & listed through a subsidiary/umbrella co. Telesure. Logic in that? None. so in total i am receiving a little over R1, 000... the cost of my monthly insurance package. what a fail in delivering a service, gone is customer service and a fair deal, 4get good value.
looking elsewhere for cover!
