Pregnant wife broken down side of road

On the 19 Jan 2013 our car gave trouble and broke down in the middle of the road with my pregnant wife driving.
Unfortunately I couldn't get to her and had to rely on phoning a towing company or getting assistance. I first phoned Virgin Insurance to find out if they can give her road side assistance, which i was denied. I assumed I didn't have any cover in that department.
Today (21 Jan 2013) I phoned Virgin Insurance to find out how much road side assistance will cost me and get told that I am already covered. They ask I phone the AssistLine on 0860104530 to get this confirmed with them again. I phone and get the told the same thing again that I'm not covered, I tell AssistLine that according to the Virgin Insurance policy I am. AssistLines request that i phone Virgin again and get them to phone AssistLine for confirmation.
My complaints.
1. Why must i phone up and down trying to sort out Virgin Insurance's mess-up, ringing up my phone bill?
2. I am covered with road side assistance and get told differently by your assistLine in time of need, tells me you have a disconnect in your system AND you dont deliver whats promised.
I don't trust Virgin Insurance anymore.
