I have been with Standard Bank Sandton for over 10 years. In the last couple years, the service has been nothing short of disgraceful. The additional R60k loan on my bond alone was handled in an absolutely appalling fashion. The account was re-bonded, interest rates changed and to top it off I was charged with legal fees & all this without having been advised before the time! After raising this on numerous occasions, no one ever bothered to even respond.

I have been in touch with the contact centre on several occasion to enquire how I go about closing the bond account, cant get an answer. I have been advised that there is no fee for settling early but there are potential legal fees - NO ONE can advise me how much or is willing to come back to me. After being burnt the first time by standard bank, I would have really liked to have be forewarned.

Trying to change contact details is an absolute nightmare all in its own! I have physically been into the bank on 3 occasions just last month to update my cellphone number in order to activate ucount and still nothing. I am now been charged for ucount but it is still not activated and no one able to help. why bother marketing!!
