ABSA Hot Card - Please Retain

My credit card details were a while ago and it took me months to sort the matter out with ABSA. Since then I've received a new credit card.
However, today I've tried to pay one of my beneficiaries from my credit card and I get the error 'HOT CARD PLEASE RETAIN'. I've already wasted so much airtime on ABSA call centres and have read previous responses that they aren't really helpfull anyway.
I would like to know what is going on??? And why don't ABSA inform me of changes on my account???
