Was committed on my Standard Bank Cheque account. After having to hold on for 27 minutes, somebody eventually answered the call and assured me that the problem will be rectified within 48 hours. Instead of passing a credit on my account, Standard Bank passed another debit on my account, putting me as customer R13000-00 in the red. Again I phoned and after 33 minutes on hold, I drove to my nearest branch where even the consultant had to hold on for 23 minutes. Six days later the problem is still not rectified. What happened to 48 hours??? Within an hour FNB has approved a new account, sent me all the documentation to change my debit orders, even opened up savings accounts for my children. Standard Bank really has to up their level of service. The only response I got from their agents was "I understand Sir". Maybe if they really did understand, the problem would have been rectified within 48 hours.???
