Unauthorised debit of account

Absa has decided to debit my account for a short term insurance policy for the vehicle I have financed with AVF without my permission.

Surely it is illegal to take out a policy in someones name without their consent and subsequently charge that person for the policy?

Moreover, I am told I will have to wait 5 to 7 days to receive the money back into my account.

Lastly, please explain how I was able to obtain absa vehicle finance since it is impossible to do so without providing proof of insurance.

I find this seriously unacceptable.
