Worse service and service model ever: YOU

We've been insured with Auto and General for 3 years - 2 cars and household and have never, i mean never claimed We pay them a R2954 a mount which alone is criminal but hey. Recently my wife was mugged and her wedding rings. We submitted a claim with Auto and General 7 days ago and we were requested to send each rings evaluations which we sourced from the manufactres Shimansyk (R16 000) NWJ (4000) NWJ (R9000). Once these were provided Auto and General turns around and says they have qouted with their suppliers and the all the rings can be remade for us byt their supplier or a total of (R16000 for all three) can be paid into our account. Our problme is if I Desmond Osman make you a BWM in my back yard does it make it a BMW? Where is the we insure the valuation value as stated in your contracts? Can i get someone who owns this business model to explain this to me. And not to worry I'm already speaking to Dial Direct and everyone else in this business for new qoutes and confirmation of how jewelry is insured.
