I was incorrectly double debited on my account yesterday. I called the call centre were I was told the funds have not reflected on their system and that I should call today in order for the reversal to be made and the funds to be transferred back into my account. I asked how long the reversal takes and I was told that the funds will reflect immediately in my account. When I called in today I was assisted by Phindile who told me that the funds will only be available to me in 3 working days. She later on hung up on me while trying to get an explanation on why they need that long to transfer the funds. I called back and spoke to Iva Mogotlane. She told me that she needs proof that shows that I did not do a reversal of the funds before she can transfer the money and make it immediately available. I should take time off work and go to the bank and send her my bank statement. All I want to know is that why am I as the client being inconvenienced if the error was done by African Bank??? Why did Phindile not ask for my bank statement?? Are these agents given adequate training?? This is the worst service to date.
