After the 8th time of trying to get my money through Western Union (which Absa now offers as an additional service), I finally succeeded in getting it. The form was handled by three tellers, and each time some information seemed to be missing from my form and I was sent home. Today, fairly confident that I have all the desired information, I stood in line (for a long, long time) and got to teller 4, whose name I unfortunately could not see.
I received neither greeting nor any form of recognition that I was indeed, right in front of her. She continued with her conversation (s) and, in effect, continued ignoring me. At one point, she actually stopped whatever she was doing, to have a very lively conversation with her neighboring teller.
I felt like something invisible, and I must say, Absa will not be seeing me again, for a while. Or until there are some definite changes in their Customer Services.
One shining star was Bonnie. She aided me in the completion of the form, was very patient and apologetic seeing that it was the 8th time I went to Absa to receive MY money.
So thanks Absa, for finally giving me my money, but no thanks. Not again.
