This is not my first complaint on Essential Med and I dread the fact that the trauma haunts way after I have even cancelled already. Following my cancellation, I suddenly receive a Doctor's bill backdated to February 2013 (whilst covered by Essential Med) for fees not paid by the Scheme which was supposed to be covered by them. The lack of service or assistance continues... after the last battle took 8 months to resolve! Be very careful who you place the trust of your health with, this is not a medical aid it is an insurance and just like every other, they decide what they will or will not cover and the rules change all the time. Every staff member I have ever dealt with passes the buck and then wants nothing to do with you, which means that you have to call in every single day in order to get zero feedback because nothing is done with your claim anyway. What a waste of valuable time and money?!
