I decided to pop into the Walmer branch of First National Bank to try again to open an account.

The consultant who "helped" me was so incompetent that i almost left without opening the account.

After explaining to her on numerous occasions the reason why we were there she still could not get it right.

Firstly she opened a wrong account and then she assumed that i could only open an account for a minimum of R100, this after i told her several times that the investment should be a minimum of R10 000.

Was i not dressed properly to be able to open an account for R10 000?

Then she made me produce a whole lot of documents to prove my address, by then my blood pressure was sky high but decided to keep cool for the sake of my child who was as frustrated as i was.

After numerous consultation with her Supervisor, we eventually got the account opened.

Half an hour later, i recieved a call from her that the account cannot be authorised as the documents were not sufficient.

I had to drive back again to give her more documents, which i had initially given to her.

I wonder what the treatment would have been if i was there to borrow money, if this is what you get for investing.
