BEWARE OF "FREE ACCESS" TO SLOW LOUNGES

Business & Finance

I was fooled into thinking that by having a good standing Platinum cheque account with FNB, I could use the slow lounges during my frequent travels. I was shocked to note on my most recent travels that my account was debited for R750 without even the courtesy of a notification from the bank. After querying this, i am told that my account did not show card transactions in excess of R5000 for the preceding month. I was never aware of this requirement and i am in possession of two other Platinum accounts with other banks and could very well have used either of the other cards if i knew to expect this. In general, FNB has been a poor banking experience to me and i do not think that I am valued as a customer. I called the call center and logged my enquiry and asked for this to be escalated on Monday 29/07/2013 and the escalation was only logged on 2/08/2013, even though i was promised feedback by COB 31/07. Even if i get no resolution from this complaint, i hope to create visibility of my problem so that all the unsuspecting clients out there can be aware of "FREE" can actually cost you more. I could have taken my 2 guests to SPUR that day and paid less... SIS FNB
